The Cottage is located at 298 Shore Road, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, on the south side of Sebec Lake, only 5 miles from downtown Dover-Foxcroft. It is just a short walk from the public boat landing at Greeley’s Landing, and near Maine’s Peaks Kenny State Park.
Sebec Lake is one hour from Bangor, 2 1/2 hour from Portland. From Augusta, Portland and points to the south, you will take Interstate 95 to Exit 157 at Newport, then you will travel straight to Dover-Foxcroft. From Bangor and Bar Harbor, just take Route 15 to Dover-Foxcroft. Detailed directions will be provided when you make reservations.
Dover-Foxcroft
Dover-Foxcroft is only a 10 minute ride away. This quaint New England town is the capital of Piscataquis County, and has a golf course, churches, restaurants, grocery stores, a library, a small movie and entertainment theater offering the likes of Maine’s own classic comedian Bob Marley, a laundry mat, full service hospital and shopping attractions. Don’t forget the ice cream shops.
During the month of June, Dover-Foxcroft is home to Maine’s annual Whoopie Pie festival.
A convenience store, Tim Merrill’s, is also within walking distance from the camp. They have the best sub-sandwiches, daily food supplies (milk, water, ice cream, bread) and any marine supplies you may need. The store also has boat rentals at a very reasonable rate. The store is opened 7 days a week.
Greenville & Moosehead Region
A scenic 35 mile drive will bring you to Greenville, where you can dine or watch moose. Downtown Bangor, with the annual International Folk Festival, State Fair, Waterfront Rock Concerts and Hollywood Casino provide numerous unique entertainment venues.
